Oxford College’s Massage Therapy program prepares students for a rewarding career in the healthcare field. Emphasizing client-focused care, our program gives you an in-depth and well-rounded understanding of a massage therapist’s role.
As a massage therapist, you will assess soft tissues and joints of the body for treatment and prevention of dysfunction, injury, pain, and physical disorders. Students will develop specialized knowledge and hands-on training to assist patients with relaxation and recovery. Upon graduation, you’ll be equipped to become a registered massage therapist (RMT) and work for yourself or an employer.
Students will learn how to:

Assess clients by conducting range-of-motion and muscle tests and propose treatment plans

Explain procedures, risks, and benefits to clients

Administer massage techniques, treating soft tissues and joints of the body through soft tissue manipulation, relaxation techniques, hydrotherapy, trigger point therapy, joint pain and lower grade mobilizations, remedial exercise programs, and client self-help programs

Suggest home care instructions and provide information about techniques for further postural improvement and stretching, strengthening, relaxation, and rehabilitative exercises

Accounting technicians and bookkeepers maintain complete sets of books, keep records of accounts, verify the procedures used for recording financial transactions, and provide personal bookkeeping services. They are employed throughout the private and public sectors, or they may be self-employed.
Oxford College’s accounting and payroll administration program is offered in partnership with the Canadian Payroll Association (CPA). The CPA offers the only payroll certifications in Canada.
The CPA’s Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification is the foundation for a career in payroll. Students will gain an in-depth understanding of the legislative requirements to manage an organization’s compliance requirements. When you get certified, you join a growing community of supportive professionals and gain access to the resources you need to stay current and compliant.

Oxford College’s Medical Laboratory Technician program prepares students to become integral members of a healthcare team and work alongside other healthcare professionals. Our program provides students with the technical skills and knowledge needed to succeed in their careers.
As a medical laboratory technician, you will conduct routine medical laboratory tests and set up, clean, and maintain medical laboratory equipment. You will also learn about laboratory safety, medical terminology, infection prevention, and more. In addition to learning an array of technical skills, students will also develop the interpersonal and communication skills needed to offer exemplary client care in a compassionate and empathetic manner.

As a denturist, you will examine patients and design, construct, and repair removable dentures. Students are trained to assess a client’s oral health conditions and effectively communicate treatment options.
